So, this week, our first week back, I learned a lot about perspective. We explicated two poems, "Spring and All," and "For Jane Myers." One of them discussed the beauty and renewal associated with the coming of spring. The second, however, told of the "perilous beauty," and panic of the flowers. What humans see as a season that brings life, the flowers see as their final days. I also drew a picture of a baby dragon in a bathtub playing with a "toy" boat. My next picture was of the people in the boat.
All in all, I guess I learned that looking at something in a new way can greatly change your opinion of a situation. If you go at everything in life with an open mind you might be surprised at the things you find. We can focus on the life, instead of the death. We can see souls, instead of skin when looking at people. We can try to look at the situation and then the actions, instead of the other way around.
