They say beauty is in the eye of the beholder, I agree, but I do not think I really understood what that meant until this week. I did not like the creative writing that I did in the last 6 weeks, at least not most of it. Infact, I considered titling the series, "Not My Best Work." However, for all that I hated it, someone else admired it and told me that I did a great job. I learned that my opinion of my own art does not really matter, if I am writing and claim that it is something I enjoy to do, I have no right to keep that to myself. My opinion should not stop my work from reaching people who might enjoy it or gain something from it.
Art is not suposed to be silent, so let it speek. It is not my job to put a cage around what I consider beautiful. If I truly believe what I say I do, I should leave it up to the reader to decide if my art is any good or not.
